My long term goals orient my current work. If you are thinking about working with me, it may be good to know about the long term goals I have. This will give you a better idea of who I am, how I think, and how I spend my time.

I have created my lifestyle very deliberately. It was no accident that I landed in web development, online marketing, and search engine optimization. These skills allow me to generate revenue to support myself financially while developing the skills I seek for my own creative projects. While working with my clients, I am committed to utilizing my skills to get the job finished. At the same time, my work is always a learning process - I pick up new books, use some new software, or learn about a new marketing strategy with every job I take. This gives me the opportunity to truly enjoy every moment of my work.

At the same time, I always make time to work on my own creative projects. Often, the skills I learn while working with clients translate directly into my personal work. This is great - and it's no accident.

Since time is the primary restriction in our lives, I seek to make my education practical in everything I do. Sometimes this is very abstract and general - for example, I may lack focus and discipline to practice drums every day. That usually means that my programming skills are being neglected, as well. Or, I may have to learn a new trick in Drupal to meet the needs of a client. Then, I can use that trick on one of my personal sites. It's this method of learning which is the most rewarding for me.
